Office Suites

• Go-Oo - (Windows, Linux) Go-Oo is Novell's implementation of OpenOffice.org. It's faster, better, and more feature rich than the standard OpenOffice.org. It supports several different file formats and best of all it's free.
• Lotus Symphony - (Windows, Linux) Lotus Symphony is IBM's implementation of OpenOffice.org. Unlike Go-Oo, it took openOffice.org to a whole new look and appearance. The goal of Lotus Symphony was to combine the functionality of OpenOffice.org with a more productive user-interface like eclipse.
• NeoOffice - (Mac OS X) NeoOffice is OpenOffice.org written in Aqua and optimized for Macs. It launches faster than OpenOffice.org and doesn't require the X11.app
  

Web Browsers

• Firefox - (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X) Firefox is the browser by Mozilla. It uses the Gecko rendering engine and offers better standards compliance and security than most other browsers. Make Firefox you own with their thousands of plug-ins and themes.
• Google Chrome - (Windows) Chrome is a new way of web browsing by Google. Using the webKit rendering engine and their own modifications and JavaScript Virtual Machine, they have made a fast and sleek looking browser. It boasts lightning speeds and top of the line security.
  

FTP Clients

• FileZilla - (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X) The open source cross-platform FTP client that boasts more features compared to it's proprietary competitors. It can connect to FTP, SFTP, and several other types of servers.
• CyberDuck - (Mac OS X) With it's native look and feel, Cyberduck provides a powerful way to manage files on remote servers. It supports FTP, SFTP, and more.
