Hello! This is just a reminder that our first ACM meeting of the semester will be tonight at 8:00 pm in room 130 of the Olin Engineering Building. We will be discussing our plans for the semester, such as future presentation topics, field trips with the UPE (Upsilon Pi Epsilon) honor society, officer elections, and CS Fest.
We are currently working with UPE to arrange a visit at Certon Aerospace, a local aerospace company. If you are not planning on attending tonight's meeting, but are interested in going on this trip, please e-mail me what days and times would be best for you to attend.
Thanks! Hope to see you there.

This week our meeting will be this Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the third floor seminar room of the Harris Building (not the residence halls).
We will be having a guest lecture on HTML5 by Kyle Huey, a representative of Mozilla. They have requested that students bring their own laptops for the seminar.
There will be free food (courtesy of Mozilla)!
Brief Abstract:
This seminar will introduct and explore some HTML5 features that make writing games on the web easy and fast. Covers <canvas> and other components of web animations, playing sound, downloadable fonts, user interaction, orientation events, developer tools, and more. This will be used to put together some simple HTML 5 games in less than an hour.
Target:
This talk will be targeted at students with a background in computer programming, but no experience with Javascript/HTML5 is presumed.
Speaker Bio:
Kyle Huey is a software engineer working at Mozilla on the core of the Gecko rendering engine that powers Firefox. Kyle works primarily on new web-facing features and performance optimizations.
Hope to see you there!
